Mirrors, digital images, 2023

Mirrors is an ongoing series of self-portraits.  Created using 3d scanning technology, the scans are an attempt to capture a three-dimensional image of my body, retaining the flaws, embracing the glitches that technology produces. These fragments and irregularities become a metaphor for the body, in a continual state of transformation.

Iceland Lake

A circle of glowing dark green ice
dug into a field of silence.
Secrets frozen for eternity.

Phillips Lake

Sharon’s father hollowed out a large round hole in their
backyard and he filled it with water.
Minerals in the soil turned it bright orange.
It sparkled.
I entered into this lake that swallowed my legs in a soft
thick mud.

Bard Lake

Gradually descending
into territorial waters.
Luminous yet marked.
Soft on the skin.

Norfolk Lake

Deep dark blue liquid.
Alive with young naked bodies in the night.
It was the beginning.
Warm, electric, black and stars.
